Privacy policy

NovaSalvia L.L.C. ("NovaSalvia", "we") makes practice software for therapists and counseling practices ("practices"). This policy explains what we do with information on this website and in the NovaSalvia app.
This website
This website has no cookies, analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or forms, and it doesn't ask you for any information. Like any website, the service that delivers these pages (Amazon Web Services) receives your device's internet address and browser details to send you the page. We don't keep logs of visits to this site.
Information in the NovaSalvia app
When a practice uses NovaSalvia, the information about its clients (for example, appointments, forms, notes, and billing) belongs to the practice. NovaSalvia handles it only to provide the service to that practice, as the practice's business associate under HIPAA, under a written business associate agreement.
- How a practice uses and shares your health information is explained in that practice's Notice of Privacy Practices. To see, copy, or correct your records, contact your practice.
- We don't sell information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers listed below, and only to run the service.
- Optional AI features help therapists draft notes. The AI service runs under the same healthcare agreements, doesn't keep the information, and doesn't use it to train AI models. Your therapist reviews everything it drafts.
- Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored in the United States, and every access to a client's record is logged.
Service providers
- Amazon Web Services: hosting, storage, email and text message delivery, video visits, and AI features, under a HIPAA business associate agreement.
- Stripe: card payments. Card details are typed on Stripe's own payment page; NovaSalvia never sees or stores them.
Text messages and email
For practices, NovaSalvia sends appointment reminders and sign-in codes to people who chose to receive them. These messages contain no health information. See our texting terms for how to stop them.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the providers that deliver the messages for us.
Washington residents
This website collects no consumer health data. Health information in the NovaSalvia app is handled for practices under HIPAA, as described above.
Children
This website is not directed to children. Practices may serve minors through the app, with a parent or guardian as the law requires; that information is handled as described above.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date. If a change affects how we handle information in the app, we'll tell practices first.
